The second bomb blast that rocked the Kawo area of Kaduna state this
afternoon was aimed at former Head of State and Chieftain of the APC,
General Muhammadu Buhari.
According to a report by BBC Africa, about 90 minutes after the first bomb
went off along Alkali Rd, a second explosion ripped through the crowded
Kawo area, targeting the motorcade of Gen Buhari.
Gunmen rammed a vehicle into his convoy, firing shots at it. The report
says two of Gen. Buhari's bodyguards were slightly wounded in the attack,

Madonna University student arrested for allegedly killing own father

A 27-year-old undergraduate of Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State, Chijioke
Ezebuiro, was paraded yesterday July 22nd by the Abia State Police Command
for allegedly killing his 87-year-old father, Dr. Emmanuel Ezebuiro. This
sad event comes barely three weeks after 21 year old Tolani Ajayi killed
his 60 year old father inside the Redeemed Christian Church of God
campground.

Security man commits suicide at popular fast food joint in Akute

One of the security men at a popular fast food joint in Alagbole, Akute, a
Lagos/Ogun suburb committed suicide in the early hours of today, Wednesday July
23rd. The security man whose name the company management chose not to
disclose, hanged himself inside the kitchen of the fast food joint before
it opened for business today.
The middle aged security man was said to have deleted all his phone
contacts which made it difficult to contact his relatives. His body was

Not again! 51 die as TransAsia Airways crash lands in Taiwan

Over 50 people have been reported dead after a TransAsia Airways passenger
plane crashed on one of Taiwan's Penghu islands today Wednesday July 23rd.
According to Taiwan's Central News Agency, at least 9 other people were
injured in the crash of the twin-engine turboprop plane, which happened
outside Magong airport at about 7 p.m local time.
The cause of the crash wasn't immediately known but the region is currently
dealing with powerful typhoon.

Bomb blast in Kaduna this afternoon leaves at least 25 people dead

A bomb concealed in a red Volkswagen golf car one went off this afternoon
July 23rd along Alkali road which leads to the popular Murtala Square in
Central Kaduna killing at least 15 people.
According to eyewitnesses, the bomb went off as a prominent Islamic cleric,
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, drove past the road. They believe the bomb was target
at his convoy but according to witnesses, the cleric escaped unhurt while
passersby were killed. At least 25 bodies have so far been receovered

6 days after downing passenger jet, rebels shoot down 2 Ukrainian military planes

Guess these rebels have no soul. They couldn't even give it time before
they start shooting down planes again. Less than a week after shooting down
a passenger jet carrying 298 people, pro-Russian rebels today Wednesday
July 23rd shot down two Ukrainian military fighter jets close to the
Russian border just 35km away from the Malaysian crash site.
A spokesman for Ukraine’s military operations said the planes were downed
near Savur Mogila, a burial mound in the Shaktersky region, but didn't have
any information about the pilots.
Defence ministry says body of technician who died in Mi-15 crash is missing

The Nigerian Defence Headquarters says the body of the technician who was
killed in the Airforce Mi-35 crash on Monday in Bama, Borno state is
missing. A statement on their website reads;
"Only one body has so far been recovered from the site of the crashed Air
Force Helicopter. The body of the technician who is the third member of
the crew is yet to be located. He is therefore declared Missing in Action
until found. Rescue team continues the search in the vicinity of the scene
of the accident".
One pilot was recused alive, while the body of the second pilot has been
recovered.
